A 30-day method that teaches the three decisions nobody trains BAs on: when a spec is done, when to escalate, and what evidence gets a stakeholder to say yes. Learned on your own work, scored before and after.
Four ways in, from $197 templates to team consulting. Takes 2 minutes to pick the right one.
Your templates are fine. The requirements still come back with gaps, stakeholders still change their minds, and every deliverable still turns into a negotiation about whether it's finished.
That's because the hard parts of BA work are judgement calls, and almost no training covers them. Certification prep teaches the BABOK. Bootcamps teach techniques. Nobody teaches you how to decide when to stop analysing, who owns a conflict, or what a sceptical sponsor actually needs to see. So you learn it by getting burned, one project at a time.
This module teaches those decisions directly, then makes you apply them to live work until the scores move.
Five stages, each with a defined output and a decision point. You run your own work through them with a coach watching.
Separate the need from the solution someone has already fallen in love with.
You'll learn: how to write a requirement that is solution-neutral, trace it to a business outcome, and spot when a "requirement" is a design decision in disguise.
Run discovery around outcomes, not feature lists.
You'll learn: a jobs-to-be-done elicitation pattern, how to capture what was said before interpreting it, and how to ask what people wish they could stop doing.
Test every statement for completeness, contradiction, ambiguity and duplication.
You'll learn: the Good Enough rubric and how to apply it in under an hour, including the point where more analysis stops adding value.
Know which calls are yours and which need a named approver.
You'll learn: the escalation protocol (trigger, approver, evidence pack, urgency), practised in rehearsals until it's reflex.
Every item carries an ID from raised to approved to delivered to validated.
You'll learn: lightweight traceability, how to show dropped and deferred items honestly, and how to confirm the delivered thing met the need.
Each one turns a recurring argument into a repeatable decision.
"Is this spec finished?"
A scored rubric for specs, NFRs, stakeholder alignment and governance readiness. Over-engineering and under-delivery both show up as a number.
"Is this mine to decide?"
Decision rights by role, agreed before the project starts. Each escalation names its trigger, approver, evidence pack and urgency tier.
"What will make them say yes?"
How to read a stakeholder's real decision criteria and assemble the minimum proof that satisfies them. Dates and artefacts, not adjectives.
Priced as a system, not a course. Values are what each piece sells for on its own. DRAFT VALUES
Eight spec clinics, four escalation rehearsals, two discovery role-plays. Max 20 people.
Your own work, scored before and after by a coach. The evidence of your uplift.
Requirement, traceability, escalation and rubric templates, mapped to the five stages.
Workshop plus template to agree decision rights with your sponsor in one meeting.
Your quality, cycle-time and confidence scores at week 0 and week 4, in a report you can hand to your manager.
Three months of access to your pod and the clinic recordings after the cohort ends.
A one-page summary and a 20-minute call script so your employer can fund it. Most do.
For comparison: two-day CBAP exam prep in Australia runs around $4,395; a six-month US online program with monthly office hours is about US$3,000. Neither works on your live specs or guarantees a result.
Bring three real specs to the cohort, attend six of the eight clinics, and submit each spec for scoring. If your week-4 scores aren't higher than week 0, or your stakeholders don't approve them, you join the next cohort free, and keep everything.
Pick the sentence that sounds most like you.
Four ways to get the method. Each one includes everything to its left.
For BAs who want the rubrics and templates and will apply them unaided.
For BAs who want to learn the method on their own work with coach feedback.
For BAs on a hard project who want a senior practitioner on call.
For BA managers who need one method across the team and a number to show leadership.
All prices are draft and in AUD excluding GST. Invoicing and purchase orders accepted for cohort, mentoring and team engagements. Template Kit purchases are credited against a cohort seat within 90 days, and cohort fees are credited against a team engagement within 6 months.
Placeholders. Replace with named, specific, measurable results from the beta cohort before launch.
"[Specific result, e.g. 'My sponsor approved the integration spec in one review instead of four.']"
"[Specific result about escalation, e.g. 'First time I've had decision rights agreed before the project started.']"
"[Manager-level result, e.g. 'Rework on the team dropped from X to Y in the quarter after.']"
BA The Right Way is the core module of the 90-day BA Performance System. It stands alone; the modules either side build on it.
No. It's the judgement that certification assumes you already have. It aligns with the BABOK but it's about applying the method on live work, not passing an exam. Hours may count toward IIBA professional development credits once the program is accredited (to be confirmed).
About 4 hours a week for 4 weeks: two 60-minute clinics, one rehearsal, and the time to prepare your own spec. The work you bring is work you'd be doing anyway.
Yes. Redact or genericise. Clinics are small and under a confidentiality agreement, and you can score an anonymised spec just as well as a named one.
Usually, when it's framed as a measured uplift rather than a course. The cohort includes a manager briefing pack and we invoice organisations directly. If you buy personally first, the fee can be reassigned to your employer.
Put those people in a public cohort. The Team Standard engagement is for when you want one playbook and a leadership number across the whole function.
Because the method is delivered in full from week one. The guarantee instead promises the result: if your scores don't move and your specs aren't approved, you repeat the next cohort free.
Pick the option that fits. Every one of them is credited toward the next if you decide to go further.
